A routine eye exam as commonly defined for insurance purposes, specifically does not include the detection and/or diagnosis of underlying "medical" conditions. Should your exam present a "medical" diagnosis, and/ or a pharmaceutical prescription is written, such diagnosis requires that we base our fees and insurance filing as such, copays and medical deductibles may apply. Disclosure to your insurance carrier is required. Some examples of a medical diagnosis are: dry eye, allergies, cataract, stye, pink eye, complications from contact lens wear, diabetic and hypertensive eye disease, abnormalities of the retina, etc. Our doctors will go over all of their findings, medical and routine, during your exam. So, when you come for your visit, please be ready to present your vision and medical insurance cards. Accepting both types of insurances allows us to address every aspect of your vision at the highest level.
